Recently appointed mayor of the City of Encinitas, California, Kristin Gaspar has served the city in a number of elected positions. In 2010, she became Encinitas's youngest city council member at the age of 30, having already served in a number of leadership positions with local non-profit organizations. The founder of The Coast Cardiovascular Fitness Club for seniors, Kristin Gaspar also chairs the Encina Wastewater Authority. Past president of the Encinitas Rotary Club, as well, she remains active on several club committees and has served in a district leadership role as district council chair.
Professionally, Kristin Gaspar has served as chief financial officer (CFO) and business manager of Encinitas's Gaspar Physical Therapy. In this role, she has led the organization to prominence as a recipient of the California Physical Therapy Association's highest clinical achievement honor. She has played a key role in stewarding the company's growth to include six locations within the region, a responsibility she has undertaken in conjunction with her civil service responsibilities. Named deputy mayor in 2011 and 2012, she will begin her term as mayor in June 2014.
